    12 lithographs in original folio depicting war work by civilians 1914-1918

    Hartrick was born in Bangalore, India, the son of an Army officer. He studied at the Slade School of Fine Art, London. Lithography became his main medium. He served as a war correspondent during WWI. A founding member of the Chelsea Arts Club, he was known as a lithographer and watercolourist. He wrote a memoir of his life, "A Painter''s Pilgramage Through Fifty Years" (Cambridge University Press 1939).
