Bidding works in two ways depending on the type of sale.

For Timed Sales the lots will be available for bidding via the Lawsons website up until the advertised time. The exception to this is where bidding is extended on any lot.

For Live Call Sales the lots will be available for absentee bidding via the Lawsons website up until 30 minutes prior to the posted starting time of the auction. These absentee bids are then downloaded and printed to be actioned as required by the auctioneer during the live sale. Include text regarding telephone, in-room etc.

Once any sale is finished successful bidders will be sent an invoice via email. This email contains collection instructions and deadlines, a link to our payment gateway and a PDF attachment of the invoice.

For Live Call Sales the pre-sale bidding will always end 30 minutes prior to the posted start time of the sale.

For Times Sales the bidding may be extended when any lot has bids placed within the final 5 minutes of the sale. During this time, each time a bid is placed, the sale will extend for a further 5 minutes from the time the bid is placed. It is important for buyers to refresh the webpage in order to see any updates to the current top bid.

Sometimes the lot in question has a reserve that was not met. Other times, it does not reach what our auctioneer considers an acceptable bid price to be able to sell the item. All items at Lawsons are sold or not sold at the Auctioneers discretion.

Upon successfully bidding on a lot, each buyer is sent an email containing their invoice. Simply reply to that email letting the relevant department know who is collecting your items on your behalf.

If you are unable to collect your goods personally, Lawsons recommends a number of carriers here. Of course, you can have your purchases collected by your own choice of carrier.

It is a good idea to note the measurements of any lot you are bidding on and ensure you are able to gain access to a vehicle appropriate for transporting that item.

Due to the nature of the auction business, each sale may have different collection instructions. The sale comments in the catalogue page of each sale will specify the collection terms and locations for that particular sale. It is imperative that each buyer makes themselves aware of these terms prior to placing a bid.

Lawsons is committed to protecting the integrity of the auction process and as such all bids placed are final and cannot be retracted.

Please ensure you are totally satisfied with the information that we have provided in the description of items as well as any other information relevant to an auction including applicable shipping fees, pick up locations and premiums before you place any bids.

Lawsons staff are available to assist with queries regarding our auctions and auction processes. You can submit an enquiry via the catalogue online and our staff will be able to respond. You can also contact us via telephone during business hours (Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm).

Buyers are able to see their successful bids via the Active Bids page on the MyAccount menu.
