WILLIAM LAPARRA (FRENCH 1873-1920) - On the Western Front 1916 37 x 61 cm


  • Notes: Born in Bordeaux, 1873, Laparra entered the Art School of Bordeaux then studied at the Julien Academy, Paris, from 1892. He was a prize winner at the Price of Rome, 1898. Laparra joined the French army in 1916 engaged with a special camouflage unit. On September 24th, 1916 he received the Croix de Guerre. A major retrospective of his work was held at the Museum Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux in 1997.
