  • Provenance: Jeannie Mills Pwerle is a celebrated Alyawarre artist from the Utopia region in Central Australia, born in 1965 in Atnwengerrp. She comes from a prominent artistic family, including her mother Dolly Mills Petyarre and great aunt Emily Kame Kngwarreye. Jeannie is known for her vivid dot paintings depicting the Anaty (desert yam) Dreaming, a story deeply tied to her cultural heritage and country.

    She began painting in the 1990s and gained national recognition in 2008 as a finalist in the Telstra NATSIAA Awards. Her intricate artworks are held in major collections such as the National Gallery of Australia. Also a traditional healer, Jeannie continues to inspire her community through both her art and cultural leadership.
