The Super Dreadnought Battle Cruiser H.M.S New Zealand, presented to the Imperial Government by the dominion of New Zealand, 18,800 tonnes, 44,000 h.p, speed 25 knots, actual speed at trial 27 knots, carries eight 12in. guns and sixteen 4in. guns. The keel was laid down in January, 1910, launched July 1st, 1911, and placed in commission under command of Captain Lionel Halsey.
