(1973 - )

Tingari

acrylic on canvas (ready to hang)
signed verso, with Certificate of Authenticity including signing photos
146 x 95 x 3 cm. (42.5 x 37.4 x 1.1 in.)

  • Provenance: Christine Campbell is the daughter of the famous painter, Bambatu Napangardi. Christine is a strong painter, painting the design associated with the Tingari ancestors. Christine uses bold line work and contrasting dots, indicative of the Western Desert painting movement. The Pintupi people believe the Tingari ancestors created everything including land, culture and law. Due to the secret nature of the Tingari Dreaming, not much further detail is provided by the Pintupi.
