Lawsons hold regular online art sales. The Weekly Art Sale catalogue is loaded every Friday evening and the sale closes the following Thursday at 12pm. The ever popular online Aboriginal Art Sale, offering traditional and contemporary Indigenous art, is held once a month, as is the Jimmy & Max Art and Sculpture auction – an online contemporary offering. Other thematic online art auctions include vintage and contemporary posters, limited edition prints and Aboriginal artefacts. Subscribe to our newsletter on our home page so you don’t miss out on any of these sales.

Our Fine Art Auction, held on the last Thursday of every month at 2:30pm, features a range of Australian Colonial, Contemporary, Modern, Aboriginal and International art. Viewing for the Fine Art auction is from 8.00am on the morning of sale, or prior by appointment. If you can’t make the ‘live’ auction in our rooms, you can bid online and view the live streamed auction on

All Lawsons Art sales are fully catalogued and illustrated online and either ‘live’ or online bidding options are available.

Lawsons provide a free initial estimate of auction value. Our Specialists can appraise Australian and International works of art in all mediums every Thursday morning 9am–12pm in our Leichhardt Rooms. If you would prefer an online appraisal, please provide a clear photograph of each item including the artist name, medium (eg. oil painting, watercolour), provenance, dimensions, physical condition and any other relevant information. Email the photographs and artwork details to [email protected]. If you then choose to sell your art with Lawsons, we accept consignments on Monday or Tuesday. Our art specialists will then suggest the suitability of the artwork for any one of our regular sales.
