Ed Wright was an enthusiastic collector of antiques for more than 60 years. He had an interest in many areas of 18th and 19th century Australian history, including pharmacy, Victoriana, goldfields, jewellery, clothing, books, militaria and weapons. Ed had become well versed in all these areas, was a life member of the Antique Arms Society, and often staged talks and displays of specialised parts of the collection for charities and at exhibitions and council functions. With his wife Betty, Ed conducted the Our Yesterdays Museum at the Argyle Arts Centre in The Rocks for many years and another museum at the Old Kilmore Gaol in Melbourne. He was never too busy to show the collection off to visitors and his passing will be a great loss to the antiques community. The Ed Wright Collection Series of auctions is a great opportunity for you to secure authentic and well loved pieces of history for your own collection. |
