A mid 19th Century horse drawn carriage, or 'Coupe' of French origin. The lined roof over a two door carriage with six bevel glazed windows, including two with sliding mechanism in doors. The interior upholstered in blue velvet with gold trim. One forward facing seat with opposing hinged seat which can drop for more leg room, seats four internally. The carriage painted blue with painted gilt highlights. Three external brass lamps available (two matching and one other, photographed attached). Purchased by current owner in Buenos Aires in 1989. One brass wheel hub engraved, yet illegible apart from a reference to 'B's Aires'. includes timber shaft for horse fixing (length 360cm). Carriage dimensions, H195, L340, W180cm at widest point.
