The grapes for this wine were picked at night to keep the temperature cool and enhance fruit quality and freshness. This wine is full of character, highlighted with aromas of fresh berries, vanilla and a hint of chocolate. The fruit flavours of the Bakenal Red Wine are balanced with a natural intensity and very smooth finish. Bakenal by Evoi captures the spirit of the bacchanal – a wild, uninhibited celebration which combines the energy of beautiful people with the vibrant colours, sights and sounds of the Caribbean Carnival.

The grapes for this wine were handpicked and fermented as small parcels with manual plunging. The wine was then pressed into French barriques and tank, to finish primary and malolactic ferment. After maturation for a further 12 months the wine was bottled and left for a period to gain complexity with bottle age. Aromas of bright cassis and blueberry are supported by plum, black olive, fresh tobacco leaf, and cocoa notes. The palate is complex and velvety, with the fruit and savoury notes balanced with a seamless finish of ripe tannins and integrated French oak.
